ISSUES & PRIORITIES
ISSUES
SMALL BUSINESSES
Small businesses matter! They contribute to our community in a number of ways. Let's support them with continued education and development programs. Lets put them first by offering affordable retail spaces, economic incentives, and expanding access to capital. This hits home to me as I'm a small business owner, if you are a small business that is currently in Buckeye, renovating, or thinking of moving to Buckeye please reach out and let's discuss.
ROADS
Roads! This topic is huge around Buckeye right? Construction isinevitable I know, but lets work on installing all the necessary infrastructure while its town up.
Main issue here is the wide to narrow roads. Developers are responsible for there section, but let's work with them to try and avoid this problem all throughout the city. Like you, it drives me crazy.
WAREHOUSES
While they do bring necessary jobs to the city they DO NOT belong in residential neighborhoods. The road congestion and noise that warehouses bring is a problem for many people. Let's take a stand and protect our quality of life. Lets focus on where these warehouses are best suited. As councilmember I will aim to work on these issues and the zoning rules to help avoid what the past has put in place.
PRIORITIES
ELIMINATE WASTEFUL SPENDING
As a small business owner I know that wasteful spending can make a business spiral downhill quickly. I will watch carefully as to what the city wants to spend your tax dollars on and make sure all questions the residents and myself have are answered before we vote. I will work hard on cutting wasteful spending and making your tax dollars go to where it needs to be in the first place.
Budget Transparency: Ensure transparency in budgeting processes, allowing citizens to understand how taxpayer money is allocated. Publicize budgets and financial reports to promote accountability and reduce wasteful spending.
Performance Audits: Conduct regular performance audits to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of city departments and programs. Identify areas of overspending or inefficiency and implement corrective measures.
Encourage Citizen Engagement: Engage citizens in the budgeting process and seek input on spending priorities. Use participatory budgeting initiatives to involve residents in decision-making and ensure that public funds are allocated based on community needs and preferences.
WATER ISSUES
I'm a strong believer in saving water and doing what we can to reduce usage. This City needs a way to help bring reclaimed water to master planned communities. This way a community can water there common areas with reclaimed water that is perfectly acceptable for non drinking purposes. Even piping to houses so outside spickets use reclaimed water as well. The average 15'x15' bermudagrass lawn uses over 5000 gallons of water per year, this would be a massive savings of fresh drinking water that would only benefit the City and its future. Using more reclaimed resources for all landscaping along the roadsides.

INFRASTRUCTURE
One thing Buckeye is lacking and for some reason tries to avoid at all cost, infrastructure. Infrastructure plays a crucial role in the development and functioning of a city. It encompasses the physical and organizational structures and facilities needed for the operation of a society, including transportation, utilities, communication, and public services. A well-designed and efficiently managed infrastructure contributes to the overall quality of life, economic development, and sustainability of a city. Investing in and maintaining robust infrastructure is essential for the long-term success of a city. It not only supports the current population but also lays the foundation for future growth and development.

JOBS
Without the infrastructure there will be no quality work in Buckeye, we can't rely on the developers to build everything. At some point the City needs to step up and take control. If we build & set place the right infrastructure, this will only bring in larger corporations, office complexes, and much more. With this these would be higher paying jobs and provide a chance for the residents that live in Buckeye to work in Buckeye. Why live here when you have to drive to town for employment, if we face an economic downturn theres no reason for that person to stay in Buckeye. We need more employment other than what warehouses and fast food bring in.

POLICE
After hearing from our former Police Chief I understand the issues the police department faces and will take any action to help them along my way. The many points he made and the issues were concerning to me to say the least. The city council needs to back the police in every way possible. This only benefits everyone! We need to take a stand and move them forward.
Financial Support - I strongly believe we need to do all we can to offer the money they need
Hiring shortage - Pay raises may increase the amount of applicants they would receive
Safety and community outreach - We need our residents to be involved with our police department, i attend to help make this a reality with events, community programs, and more.
FIRE
Our fire department is one of the best there is! But that doesn't mean it couldn't be better and ill work closely with the department so help in any way I can. Listening to there concerns and taking an action is top priority. They just don't handle fire calls but perform medical calls, welfare checks and much more. More stations/staff/trucks could help with better response times as every second counts.
Developer Support - Let's speak with developers into donating more for our departments.
Stations - Let's work together and provide the additional fire stations we need.
Community Programs - I would like to see more programs involving our residents.
